Where will the EV charger be located?

The charger must be located at an external wall of your home adjacent to where the fuseboard is located.

Who receives the grant, the installer or the customer?

The grant will be paid directly to the customer.

Can I have more than one EV charge Point?

This is possible and we can confirm this when we call to assess. One of the Charge points will be assigned Priority Device to ensure both EV charge point are not used at the same time.

I live in an estate with communal parking, what are my options?

It may be possible to install a Pedestal Unit provided you have a space to park your car adjacent to your home. We can confirm and advise on this when we call to assess.

I live in an apartment, what are my options?

If you have been provided with a designated space, we should be able to provide you with a charger. You will need to obtain permission from your Management Company.

I do not own my property, should I notify my Landlord?

Yes, we cannot proceed with installation until we have had permission from the owner of the property.

I have been told that my Fuseboard will not allow for any further additions to my electrical installation. What are my options?

A sub-board can be installed to allow for the EV point. We will always carry out a thorough inspection of the electrical system to ensure that it is safe to add the EV charger.

How do I apply for SEAI grant?

Apply for the grant via the link below. Are there any additional maintenance costs?

If you have chosen a good quality charger like the brands we have mentioned on our website and you have had the charger installed by a competent Electrician, you should not expect to pay for any maintenance costs until such time as replacement parts may be needed due to wear and tear. All chargers come with a 3 year warranty.

Can you provide me with a Cert?

Installations are carried out by Registered Electrical Contractor. We are members of Safe Electric/RECI and provide you with a Certificate of completion within 5 working days of completion.

Can I be sure that EVOCAR.ie are a certified installer?

We are fully qualified and fully insured Electricians registered with Safeelectric.ie. We are listed on this website as members.

How long will it take to charge my Car?

This will depend on the type of charger and the model of the car. Time

How do I claim for ACA?

Ensure that the charger you have purchased is eligible for ACA on the SEAI website. You can claim for ACA through you standard annual tax return.

Can I find out how much it will cost me to charge my Car?

Yes, we can install a check meter on your charger to allow you monitor the cost of charging your vehicle.
